The Ins and Outs of Our Shipping and Delivery Process
Since our arrival in the metal and steel structure industry in 1962, we’ve made it a point to make our metal building components easily accessible to our customers.
We’ve done this through the years by providing easy shipping and delivery with each of our products. We know you’ve got a lot to do already with the construction of your pre-engineered metal building and getting components for it quickly and easily should be a given.
As a family-run business, we understand the importance of providing personalized care and service to our customers. That’s why we include a comprehensive shipping and delivery process with our services that fits almost any situation.
Alongside our established shipping process, we strive to fully comprehend your metal building vision and then do our best to make it happen.
When you order a metal building component from Pacific Building Systems you order a quality experience from start to finish. From the moment you place an order for a metal building component, to the fabrication of that component, preparing it for shipment and sending it off to you-we place great care into what we do.
We’re able to ship our metal building components to Alaska, Hawaii and most areas within the Pacific Northwest. But what does our shipping and delivery process entail?
Shipping and Delivery Options
Congratulations on your purchase of a pre-engineered metal building system or component from Pacific Building Systems! You’ve placed an order with us, now what? Once we’ve received your order we can assess the best possible way to get that part to you. We move our components utilizing our own fleet of trucks, whether your project needs a full semi trailer or has unique site conditions requiring an agile approach, we have the fleet options to fit, ranging from flat-beds to truck/trailer options.
Our fleet of trucks run regularly and can deliver metal building components to our surrounding area in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. If you’re located in Alaska or Hawaii and need a more comprehensive shipping service than the truck service we provide – we know just what to do!
Here’s everything you need to know about how we assist you in shipping our products great distances and how we deliver them via on-ground truck service locally.
How We Ship
We’ve shipped our products to every city of export in the Pacific Northwest. We encourage our customers to choose their freight company of choice when sending our steel building systems across the ocean.
While it’s ultimately up to the customer to determine how they want to proceed with the shipping process, we’re always happy to provide information and resources on the best possible way to obtain your product.
Once you’ve picked the freight company you wish to use, we’ll deliver it there for them to load. Your freight company will provide you with all the important information they need, and we’ll ensure to include it in your shipping documents. When they’ve carefully loaded your package onto their ship, it’s off the dock and on its way to you!
We do recommend you insure your product as ownership is transferred from PBS to the freight company at time of drop off at the dock. Once the product you’ve ordered arrives at the dock on your part of the globe, you arrange to pick it up from there and proceed with your pre-engineered building plans.
How We Deliver
If you’re located in or around Oregon, we can oftentimes use our own trucks to deliver components straight to you.
For our customers that prefer to provide their own freight system – whether you’re dropping a trailer at our facility two-five days prior to pick up or picking up product on our standard “Will Call” days of Wednesdays and Fridays, we offer convenient payment and loading options. All that’s left for you to do is secure your own load and you’re back on the road.
For our friends that need smaller deliveries for last minute items such as screws, nuts, bolts, or other lightweight accessories we offer convenient package delivery options from standard ground to overnight – early AM deliveries. If you’re wondering which delivery service fits best for your situation, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!
Of course, thanks to our new brick and mortar store, you can always bypass the delivery process completely. Come on in and shop in store or arrange for pickup at our warehouse location in Woodburn, Oregon.
What Sets Us Apart
If you’d like to skip the delivery process altogether, that’s an option! We offer will call Wednesdays and Fridays at our Woodburn location, hours 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Be kind, our team needs to eat, so will call closes between noon and 12:30 pm. This means if you order a metal building component on Monday, we spend Tuesday getting the item made and ready for pick up on Wednesday. The same process applies on Thursday for Friday will call.
Generally, our lead time to make and fabricate a metal building component is two days. If a part you’re looking for takes longer than two days to fabricate or is expected to get to you at a later time, we’ll always let you know up front. We know your time is valuable and it’s nice to know exactly when you can expect your parts.
We feature an incredible team of highly skilled designers and engineers in-house. This ensures that each metal building component we’re delivering to you is of the utmost quality. Whether it gets to you in two days or ten, you can rest assured that you’re getting the best part possible for your pre-engineered metal building.
In addition to our full-scale delivery system, customer service is something we pride ourselves on. We put in the time, energy and care required to make sure your metal building meets business and design specifications.
We make every effort to communicate manufacturing and shipping times to each customer so they know just what to expect during the delivery process.
If you have questions about our delivery process, give us a call. We’re always happy to help old friends and meet new ones!
