How PBS Helped to Repair & Rebuild a PEMB After Damaging Fire
Our pre-manufactured metal building projects do not always involve engineering a new commercial, industrial or residential metal building structure from scratch. Sometimes, our customers need to add additions to existing structures, make repairs, or replace metal roofing or metal siding with our high-quality steel building components. Pacific Building Systems recently worked on a project to help repair and rebuild a Maaco Auto Body Shop in Vancouver, WA.
A devastating fire engulfed the one-story auto shop in early April of 2021. Thankfully, no one was inside at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported – but the damage was significant.

After the damage was assessed, the building owners reached out to our friends at Accurate Steel Erectors, Inc., a general contractor in Woodland, WA, and a long-time PBS customer, to repair the building.
Time was of the essence, so they turned to us to manufacture and deliver the metal building components needed to do the repairs, so the store could reopen and resume business as soon as possible.
To be clear, PBS does not participate in any construction field, but focuses on producing the highest quality steel buildings, which are designed for ease of installation.
Here’s a look at the damage before the repairs were completed:
To complete the repairs, we manufactured PBR roofing and siding panels made with high tensile steel to allow greater load capacity and structural spanning, so it could be installed over the existing structure.
We also manufactured customized trims and other secondary structural steel members to meet their specific building requirements with the highest quality product available. We quickly and effectively manufactured the needed parts and delivered them directly to their site.
Since we’re also experts at packaging building systems, our customers could be assured their delivery would be on time and undamaged.
