Frame Types

PBS has been a leader in manufacturing standard and custom steel buildings throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada for over fifty years. Our buildings are computer-designed, which saves you time and money and ensures you get the most up-to-date engineering technology available.

We offer three different metal building types that can be manufactured in a wide range of dimensions and roof slopes:

Each of these frame types has its own set of advantages. Learn more about what type of frame is right for your building

CLEARSPAN

Clearspan requires no interior supports, so it’s a great design choice for industries that require a large amount of expansive floor space such as agricultural buildings, equestrian facilities, aircraft hangars, athletic facilities, and industrial machinery storage buildings. Its design flexibility makes it the most versatile and popular steel building frame in our collection. Clearspan frames can be cost-effective for buildings as wide as 200 feet.

SPECIFICATIONS

Width:                                                 20’ THROUGH 200‘

Height:                                                10’ to 40’ and over

Standard roof slope:                           1/2:12 to 4:12

MULTI-SPAN

Multi-span frames allow for unlimited building width with strategically placed internal columns for additional support. By evenly distributing the load, multi-span frames reduce the cost of both the frame and foundation of extremely wide steel buildings. They are typically used for warehouses or large industrial buildings but are also popular as churches or office buildings because the columns can be hidden in walls.

SPECIFICATIONS

Width:                                                 NO MAXIMUM WIDTH

Height:                                                10’ to 40’ and over

Standard roof slope:                           1/2:12 to 1/12

Internal Column Spacing:                   40’ to 80’ Max

SINGLE SLOPE

Single slope frames have different eave heights on each sidewall. The roof slopes down from the highest eave to the other, which makes it a perfect solution when one-way roof drainage and column-free interior floor areas are required. Single-slope frames require less material, and owners often experience lower heating and cooling costs. They are commonly used for vehicle or equipment covers, shopping centers, automotive shops, or office complexes.
